At the beginning of the Millennium, ‘climate change’ was becoming more widely recognised but still not making sense to ordinary people. Antony Turner decided to establish a new company to promote a wider understanding of climate change and inspire creative solutions from people and businesses around the globe. In 2003, CarbonSense was born in the UK.
A multi-disciplinary team was brought together with expertise in community theatre, communications, leadership development and behavioural change as well as science, engineering and the entrepreneurial flair that had already helped several of the founding associates to establish successful businesses.
Over the last five years CarbonSense has become highly regarded as an active, independent and insightful voice in the field of climate change and carbon, helping many businesses and other organisations towards climate leadership.
In addition to permanent full-time staff, CarbonSense continues to employ a wide range of associates and draw on established relationships with associate companies and academic institutions. In addition, the CarbonSense Foundation has been formed to carry forward innovative work on international policy issues.
